Playing the Turkish melody on a green pocket trumpet, summer 2012 in Istanbul (stopover en route to Nepal) Learn more about the Travel House project (and check back in late spring when it's donation time!) CODEX I. From the TV feature on Ensemble Studio 6, aired in April 2013 CODEX XII. The premiere, 28. 4. 2013. KC Rex, Belgrade Ensemble Phoenix Basel & Z'ev live at Dampfzentrale, Bern 19.06.2011 An ongoing and fruitful collaboration with a globetrotting guitarist Igor Čubrilović, now based in Belgrade. Recorded live in KC Drugstore, Belgrade, Nov. 24 2013. (The very next day we went into the studio in Radio Belgrade, and there is a lot of material still waiting to be released) A second installment of a monthly Improve series in Belgrade. I played a duo set with Lukatoyboy, one of the Improve collective regulars. Quite a few people left the room, which always makes me proud. A hidden gem I recently found on the internet, a 2 am sextet session with Patrick, Rie, Tucker Dulin, Andrew Lafkas and Gill Arno, recorded at Gill's place in Brooklyn, after we came back from the Laboratorium concert.
Here's the link, make sure to scroll until the end of the post, that's where the sound-file is: http://fotofono.net/2010/07/12/summertime-news/ A piece for trumpet and bass-drum written by a world-class percussionist and my colleague from the Novi Sad Academy, Nebojša Jovan Živković. We first played and recorded it in the basement of his countryside villa near Kaiserslautern in 2002, after I had just moved to Germany, and after the piece has just been premiered by Hakan Hardenberger and Evelyn Glennie. This is the second, proper recording that we made in the academy studio in Novi Sad, somewhere around 2007. For copyright reasons, here is just a short excerpt. a mostly improvised last section of the piece. A portrait concert of brilliant Agata Zubel with Klangforum Wien at the festival in Krakow, there is a very fun trumpet part in the first piece, "Labyrinth" (for voice, flute, trumpet, sax and double bass) and I also appear in "Ulicami ludzkiego miasta" which starts at around 29'
(but it would by no means be a waste of time to watch the entire concert, all 4 pieces were quite strong) This is a myspace profile of one of the side projects of Ensemble Laboratorium, a stillborn free improv trio called Vibrating Luggage, which has had nearly one public appearance.
Still, there were two very productive late-night recording sessions after and in-between Laboratorium rehearsals (the period is around 2008/2009), and the two tracks have survived on a forgotten myspace page: The embedding doesn't work, so here's a link: http://myspace.com/vibratingluggage "In-transit action after Sebastian Brant for actors, improvising brass quintet, amateur wind orchestra, amateur male choir, skateboarders and passers-by" This is where I've met my dear friends from the Express Brass Band who took me along on a very fun Turkish tour a few weeks later. I just realize I've been doing a pretty good job staying away from whoever was filming this, but if you are persistent you can spot me somewhere in the crowd, wearing a kilt. |
MEDIA COLLECTIONI was always terrible at acquiring, keeping and uploading my own recordings; so here are mostly some audio and video links I could scavenge from various sources around the internet, in no particular order. A lot of the really good stuff is missing, but that's how it is... Categories
